It's all about hygge!

Ya'll, I have done so much research about hygge and I can't get enough. When I say its a new way of life I mean it will transform the way you feel from day to day. So, what exactly is it?

Hygge is a Danish and Norwegian word for a mood of coziness and comfortable conviviality with feelings of wellness and contentment.

Having a full time job, trying to be a great wife, and being mom to 3 boys, 3 dogs and a pig my life can become super hectic and overwhelming very easily. It is important for me to make myself a priority and the way I do this is through hygge. How do I do this?

1- Wrap up!

I am always under a blanket making myself feel cozy. There is something about a fluffy blanket that gives me the feeling of comfort.

2- Cup of Joe

You always hear about moms never getting the chance to finish their first cup of coffee. I make it a priority. Yes, a priority to have peace and quiet with a hot cup of coffee in the morning to get my day started. If you need to get up earlier to do this then do it. It's a game changer!

3- Set the mood

Turn off all the harsh lights and either turn on a dim lamp or lights a candle. This gives me the feeling of calmness and that is a rarity in my household.

4- Find your own happy place

I have a few of these. Sometimes it's with a cup of hot tea and a good book and others its sitting with my husband talking about our day. Whatever your happy place is... find it!

These are just a few things I do to find comfort and peace within myself. Most of these I can make happen every single day. A lot of people do this but don't sit and relish in the moment. I do have a challenge for myself to not watch television for an entire month (except for morning news), but have yet to have to confidence to put it into action. Can you imagine no Netflix for an entire month? Instead of television in my down time I want to read books, workout, just simply be in the moment. Anyone who knows me knows chill and Netflix is a real things! I think February is just the month to do this! Are you going to join me?

Sending my love,

Katie
